SUMMARY OF PLANNING ADVICE REGARDING
COPRISYSTEMS PRODUCTS
In order for CopriSystems products to be erected lawfully
without first obtaining planning permission, they must satisfy
the relevant criteria set out in the GPDO, 1995. If the
proposal does not meet all of these criteria, planning permission
is required.
Development is permitted and planning permission is not
required if:
- the height of the building as extended or altered would
not exceed the height of the original building;
- the cubic content of the original building would not
be exceeded by more than;
| |
i. 10%, in respect of development on land that
relates to land within;
| |
a. a National Park;
b. an area of outstanding natural beauty;
c. an area designated as conservation
areas under section 69 of the Planning (Listed
Building and Conservation Areas) Act 1990
(designation of conservation areas);
d. an area specified by the Secretary
of State and the Minister of Agriculture,
Fisheries and Food for the purposes of section
41 (3) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act
1981 (enhancement and protection of the
natural beauty and amenity of the countryside);
e. the Broads. |
ii. 25%, in any other case. |
- the external appearance of the
premises of the undertaking concerned would not be materially
affected. (Each case will be different and should be considered
on its merits. It is more likely that a free-standing
structure will materially affect its appearance, whilst
a structure as an extension to a building may not, depending
on its size, location, conspicuousness, etc.)
- any part of the development would not be carried out
within 5 metres of any boundary of the curtilage of the
premises; or
- any part of the development would not lead to a reduction
in the space available for the parking or turning of vehicles.
If the system proposed for your use meets the above criteria
it must also:
- not be used for any other use than that of the business
concerned (the introduction of a new use may require planning
permission)
- only be used, in the case of an industrial building,
for the carrying out of an industrial process for the
purposes of the undertaking or the provision of employee
facilities;
- only be used, in the case of a warehouse, for storage
or distribution for the purposes of the undertaking or
the provision of employee facilities;
- not be used to provide employee facilities between
7.00p.m. and 6.30 a.m. for employees other than those
present at the premises of the undertaking for the purposes
of their employment;
- not be used to provide employee facilities if a notifiable
quantity of hazardous substances are to be stored at the
premises of the undertaking.
